At Wealden Osteopaths you are treated respectfully as the unique person you are, not as a set of symptoms.
Osteopathy is a safe and natural form of healthcare. At Wealden Osteopaths your safety is our primary concern and we will never undertake any treatment that we consider dangerous or harmful.
At your first consultation, you and your osteopath will have a conversation to build a case history and provide a full picture of your complaint. This will allow your osteopath to formulate the most accurate diagnosis possible. Most importantly, your case history will establish whether you are safe to treat, or instead be referred to your doctor or another health professional.
You will then usually be asked to strip to your underwear for a full musculoskeletal evaluation. This involves a few simple movements to assess your range of motion, plus orthopedic and other tests relevant to your specific complaint. Osteopathy is a safe and natural form of healthcare. Having established that osteopathy is safe and appropriate for you, we will formulate and explain a course of treatment tailored to your needs. Once you have agreed to this, your treatment can begin.
Every treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual patient, using a variety of techniques, including cranial osteopathy.
Initial consultations usually takes 60 to 80 minutes; follow-up treatments from 30 to 40 minutes. However, treatment times vary according to the nature of your symptoms, and consultations can be longer or shorter.
